Central Texas Mycology
Ali Stone’s passion for fungi began in her home state of Minnesota, where she plucked her first wild edible from the sweet earth on a quint farm on the outskirts of the city. It was a morel, a gorgeous fruit that triggered her endorphins to go wild! Her brain myceliated exponentially in the years to follow leading her to seek other fungal fanatics. She attended and continues to participate in many events to learn from others; The Radical Mycology Convergence, Telluride Mushroom Festival, Mycosymbiotic Festival, and took an intensive course with Fungi for the People. She spent a couple years in the Pacific Northwest before moving to Texas and spent many hours with the Puget Sound Mycological Society which helped fuel her passion to be a part of the formation of the Central Texas Mycological Society! She currently sits as the treasurer for CTMS. As a vegetable farmer, much of her time is spent in the fields but you bet she still finds time to explore the depths of the woods and participates in as many events as time permits.
